I’m Baaaaaack / Chocolate Cake

by John on September 10, 2009 · 12 comments

I was able to secure  a new power cord for the laptop, which shouldn’t have been much of an issue since I work at the largest electronics chain in the country, so I am officially back.  I’m sure you missed me, and I apologize for any tears shed during my absence.  Sometimes time apart is the best thing.  It will only make our relationship grow stronger.

During my absence, I had the privilege of eating Domino’s new Chocolate Lava Crunch Cake. While I usually steer completely clear of deserts from pizza joints, these things are pretty legit.  If you’re a rich chocolate fan, I’m telling you.. You just might like these things.  In fact, I guarantee it.  I was a little hesitant to believe that chocolate “lava” pours out the center but it really does.  Crazy.

In honor of these delicious cakes and yours truly having computer access once again, I am giving $15 Dominos gift cards to the first two people who can tell me where the first Domino’s pizza was located.  No strings attached.

A little hint: My father actually used to work there.

Good luck!

PS. I will also send you a $100 gift card if you can personally replicate The Chocolate McGriddle Crunch Cake, and prove to me that you ate it.  A McDonalds sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle sandwiched between two Dominos Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes.  Observe….

WOW is all I can say to your concoction. Sorry I need more money than $100 to eat that lol.

YAY we missed you John! Welcome back!

I know Josie and IE for this already but here it is again: Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Correct. Ypsilanti, which is also my hometown, was the location of the first Domino’s pizza. It is actually about a 5 minute drive from where I sit right now. Josie and IndianapolisEater, e-mail your address to john@epicportions.com and I’ll get those out to you as soon as possible.

Oh man. I remember when it was Torminos! I also remember when I was on a flight with Tom Monahan (founder of dominos, the guy who nearly destroyed the Tigers/Red Wings). I had to use the bathroom after that guy. Wasn’t pretty and he definitely didn’t wash his hands. Ick.

What kind of proof would you like?

Normally I don’t do pork anything, but pay me up front and I’ll eat it with the quickness! $300 for 3. Puhh-lease, done and done.

varta September 10, 2009 at 11:24 pm

dude, I’d pay you to make that for me to eat it. Looks like heaven!

You have yourself a deal. I will order two of these suckers, and harvest the insides of a mc.griddle to combine the two components into an abomination worth devouring for exactly 100 dollars. I need to know if you are legit though. ;)

Is the $100 still up for grabs?

Just tried Dominoes chocolate cake. First off, it arrived very burnt, overcooked and dried out. Really? Really? Come on…..
Stay clear.
