Why do you even care about what other beers people drink? Drink you heavy dark stuff and go on with you day........I know several women that drink these beers not bc of the calories, instead bc they can go "beer for beer" with the rest of the group and not have to worry about creepos like yourself taking advantage of them at the end of the night!

I have to agree with John in the sense that ultra low calorie beers taste truly awful. At least Michelob Ultra does, the only one I've had the misfortune of tasting. Miller doesn't make a single decent beer so I have to assume MGD 64 is equally terrible.

But I would like to offer Amstel Light as a compromise. It only has 95 calories, and while not a great beer, does have some taste and is a lot better than the ultra low calorie group.

Thanks for reading Rebecca, we don't mind disagree comments at all. Always nice to have a lively debate.

I also meant to mention I really do love your blog and make sure to read it every day. Sorry to leave a "disagree" comment as my first. I find most of your posts insightful, funny, helpful, or controversial, as it may be! ;-)

I must say I completely disagree with you. I don't think people just drink low calorie beers because they don't like the taste of beer or because they want to drink more. In all honesty, I sometimes drink them to actually limit the number of calories I consume. I am trying to avoid the beer belly that comes with drinking non-light beers. Think about it. If you drink 2 beers in a night... that would be approx 128 calories if drinking Miller 64, 192 calories if drinking Miller Lite, and 290 if drinking a Dos Equis. and that's not even getting into the high alcohol/high calories beers. The 152 difference in just drinking beers could be worked off with approx of running. It may not seem like a lot to you, but to someome trying to lose weight, those 152 calories count for a lot. Not to mention you feel better in the morning! And yes, you can drink a rum and dt coke, but what if you are not in the mood for a high alcohol drink? Just my two cents. (and for the record, I am actually a wine drinker but am trying to cut back due to calories there as well.)
