Mommie’s Soul Food

This little drive through soul food joint called Mommie’s Soul Food just opened up on Washtenaw right by my apartment.  The building is an old Hot ‘n’ Now location  The funny thing is there’s no drive through speaker.  Last time I drove by the operation was set up with some lady standing outside taking your order, running it inside, then having you pull up to the window for your food.  Word on the street is they actually have some pretty legit soul food.  I’m still trying to build up the courage to give it a try.  What do you think?  Should I?

Go for it. I had some amazing soul food some months back… fried fish, mac and cheese, greens and cornbread. So good.

Funny, we have a few hot n now still standing with that setup. One is a bank, the others was a Rally’s and there is one that is a mexican joint. I would say go for it, that place looks rich.

    Hello,
All the readers that’s looking for something bad to talk about leave this site, because if you’re trying to talk negatively about the new and upcoming restaurant named “Mommies Soul Food” that is supported by EMU and U of M College the hospitals, as well as Key Bank. The food is great, plentiful and healthy, and they are even looking to relocate to a sit in diner down the street to better serve you. The owner only wants to give back to the public the best that she can. Isn’t it funny how people that don’t want others to have anything, don’t have anything then selves good to say? (Stupid is not what stupid dose.) Don’t take their word, try it yourself. 
Here is a quote from a customer; “I ordered from Mommie’s today and had it delivered (for just $1.50). This is second time eating there. The ribs are probably the best in Washtenaw County and the chicken was very good. The green beans, mac&cheese, and potato salad were good too, the mashed German American potatoes was great. Since all the meats are cooked on a grill, I’m looking forward to trying their hamburgers and hot dogs, too. I really hope this place survives because I’m tired of driving to Livonia or Westland for decent ribs!”
    Thanks for time.
