So the Jewish half of Epic Portions has family in town to Celebrate the Pagan tradition of tree lighting, American tradition of materialistic splurges on gifts, and the very Jewish tradition of good-old-fashioned holiday drinkin’!
Oh yeah – and my girlfriend decided to cook her face off – seared sea scallops and a truffled shrimp risotto with balsamic-pear-gorgonzola mixed greens salad.

Straight from my favorite food blog in the world, The Food in my Beard, I present to you lazy man tamales. Any food that can be titled as “lazy man” dish, and looks this good sounds like an excellent idea to me. If I didn’t have black bean and rice burritos cooking right now I would literally drive to the grocery store and make these right now. I guess there’s always dinner.

Upon browsing through what may be my new favorite blog, I found what may be the downfall of this diet of mine. This needs to be made at my household, and unfortunately I may need to invite some meat eaters over to help crush it. Just a quick play by play.. From the top that’s pasta with alfredo sauce, pasta with marinara, italian sausage, mozzarella sticks and meat balls mixed in, and chicken parm on the bottom. All that deliciousness is surrounded in a puff pastry. Sweet jesus.
